Certification category for Emotional Freedom Techniques — a meridian-tapping modality developed by Gary Craig in 1995, with a growing peer-reviewed research base.

Tapping works by pairing verbal acknowledgment of distress with stimulation of acupressure points — a sequence simple enough to self-administer, yet supported by a body of clinical research that continues to grow.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a self-help and therapeutic technique in which the practitioner or client taps on a sequence of acupressure points on the face and upper body while stating a problem and a self-acceptance phrase. Gary Craig, a Stanford-trained engineer, developed EFT in 1995 by simplifying Roger Callahan's earlier Thought Field Therapy (TFT). Craig made the original EFT manual freely available online, which drove rapid global adoption.
