Immunity to Change™ (ITC) is a developmental diagnostic and intervention process that makes visible the hidden competing commitments and big assumptions producing a person's recurring inability to make changes they genuinely want to make. The process uses a four-column Immunity Map: an improvement goal, the behaviours that work against the goal, the hidden competing commitments and worries protecting the status quo, and the big assumptions underlying it all. Once those are visible, practitioners can design tests of the assumptions and produce real change. ITC is grounded in Kegan's constructive-developmental theory and is one of the most powerful applied tools to emerge from that tradition.
