Certified Generative Coach (CGC)

The CGC supports both the ICF Level 1 (ACC) and Level 2 (PCC) credential pathways across two courses. Completing Course 1 (60 contact hours) earns an ICF Level 1 education certificate, which supports the ACC credential application. Completing Course 2 (70 additional contact hours; 130 total) earns an ICF Level 2 education certificate for the PCC pathway.

Generative Wholeness is inviteCHANGE's proprietary framework built around three activating principles: Wholeness, Essential Discernment, and Effective Resilience. Rather than treating these as skills to add to a coaching toolkit, the CGC curriculum treats them as capacities the coach develops in themselves, a foundational way of being from which effective practice emerges. The framework runs through all 31 sessions of the program, applied progressively across both courses.

The full program includes 31 live sessions across two courses. Course 1 runs 15 two-hour sessions over about 6 months. Course 2 runs 16 two-hour sessions (4 weekly, then 12 bi-weekly) over 7 months. This structure is a deliberate pedagogical choice rather than a compressed intensive.

Each course includes 3 individual mentor coaching sessions plus 7 group mentor coaching hours, for a total of 20 mentor coaching hours across both courses, included in standard tuition. Most ICF Level 1 and Level 2 programs require students to arrange and pay for mentor coaching separately; the CGC builds it in.

Yes. Course 1 is accredited by the ICF at Level 1 as a standalone completion, supporting the ACC credential application after 60 contact hours plus the required coaching experience. Course 2 then extends into ICF Level 2 accreditation for the PCC pathway. Coaches can complete Course 1 and decide about Course 2 based on their credential goals.

The program is led by Janet M. Harvey, MCC, a 29-year coaching education veteran, TEDx speaker, and author of From Tension to Transformation. Harvey founded inviteCHANGE and developed the Generative Wholeness framework over more than two decades of coaching education. MCC-level faculty from the first session is a meaningful distinction from programs that use less experienced facilitators for foundational cohorts.

Course 1 runs about 6 months and Course 2 runs 7 months, so the full two-course program runs roughly 13 months for coaches who move directly from one to the other. The live session format is designed for gradual integration of coaching skills rather than a compressed intensive.

The Learning Cloud is inviteCHANGE's digital resource environment, available to all enrolled CGC coaches. It provides structured access to program materials, practice resources, and reflection tools to support the work between live sessions. It complements the live cohort format and functions as the connective tissue between the 31 live sessions.

A CGC graduate has completed 130 contact hours of ICF-accredited training across Course 1 (Level 1) and Course 2 (Level 2) in a continuous two-course program. Completing the CGC doesn't automatically mean the coach holds an ICF credential; that requires a separate application with documented coaching experience hours. A coach who has genuinely integrated the methodology can explain Wholeness, Essential Discernment, and Effective Resilience in plain language and connect each to how they actually work with clients. Also ask about the clients they've worked with since certification and what kinds of challenges those clients brought. Finally, request a discovery or chemistry call. A CGC-trained coach should be able to demonstrate their approach clearly in a 30-minute conversation.

Yes. The program requires no prerequisites and is designed to take coaches from foundational skills through to PCC-level competency across its two courses. The 31-session format is specifically suited to newer coaches because it provides frequent practice repetition over an extended period. Coaches who train in shorter intensive formats often need significant post-graduation practice to integrate skills; the CGC builds that integration time into the program itself.

Yes. The Certified Advanced Generative Coach Level 3 program is inviteCHANGE's accredited pathway toward the ICF MCC for PCC holders seeking the profession's highest designation. The Generative Team Coaching Certification is an ICF AATC-accredited team coaching credential for coaches with 300 or more coaching hours. The Certified Generative Mentor Coach (CGMC) program is available to coaches at any credential level. All three build on the Generative Wholeness framework, so graduates can continue within a consistent methodological framework rather than switching methodologies mid-career.
